Biotechnology deals with the use of living things in industrial or commercial processes and accordingly draws upon many biological disciplines. The development of a biotechnology co-major within the Bachelor of Science is currently being proposed. BSc students who choose a biotechnology co-major will complete core biotechnology subjects and subjects in another major. Further details about the course structure will be available in the supplement provided at the time of enrolment.

 5.1. Career opportunities

Biotechnology has many applications including food production, plant and animal breeding, drug production, forensic science, waste management and disease detection and treatment.
