Faculty of Arts : Guide to courses
In 1999 the Arts Faculty is introducing a new structure to all of its undergraduate degrees and diplomas, so that all programs are based on a common points structure across the University. Any currently enrolled student with questions about the revised structure should contact the Arts Faculty Office to speak with a course adviser.
From 1999 all Arts Faculty subjects will have only one code, even if the subject is available at more than one year level. The level/s at which each subject is offered is indicated by the availability field in each subject entry in this handbook.
In addition, all subjects available before 1999 and still on offer have been assigned a new code. In these cases, information about the former subject code has been included in the note field of each subject, to ensure that students do not enrol in subjects they have already completed.
The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts, is introducing a new degree in 1999, the Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development.
For students interested in a qualification in Urban Planning, the BUPD provides an alternative to the BA's Major in Planning and Design (see Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development for course details).
