Subject Description

Authors from the 15th century to the present are studied. Students read a short novel and excerpts from medieval and modern Hindi poets. Hindi is spoken where possible in class discussions.

Assessment

One 1000-word essay, 10 short weekly essays (minimum of 150 words), one 1-hour class presentation in Hindi and one 3-hour examination.

Prescribed Texts

Necessary reading materials will be provided.
