Subject Description | The objective of this subject is to prepare final year students for employment ventures. The subject will be designed so that students can develop skills in curriculum vitae writing, interview techniques (preparation, body language, general presentation, etc.) and job hunting skills. The content includes: This subject will involve a series of components which will allow the student to develop a range of skills that will assist in job hunting and preparation. Individual students will be expected to apply for a mock natural resource management employment position (in the students area of specialisation), develop a CV to be presented with the application and then conclude with a realistic interview with a panel of staff/industry representatives. The interview will be assessed according to personal preparation, interview technique, knowledge of subject area and CV quality. Throughout the subject, students will also be required to collect and submit a handbook of relevant natural resource management job advertisements and their associated position descriptions. |
