Subject Description | On completion of this subject students should have gained skills in:
Students will also gain supportive counselling skills applicable in music therapy with individuals and groups; individual and group song writing techniques; techniques applicable with people experiencing brain impairment. Topics covered include: introduction to counselling theory and its applications in music therapy using live and pre-recorded music; song writing techniques; techniques in harmonisation, transposition and improvisation; composition of original songs. |
Assessment | One 1500-word assignment and the composition of two original songs (50%); a practical test (50%). |
