Subject Description

Students will further develop their own individual working methods and habits, style, language and goals, be introduced to advanced techniques and equipment and be able to work with large scale and extended musical structures. There will be 2 major projects (1 in each semester) related to the individual needs of the student, covering areas of compositional philosophy and technique, including electronic and computer music, aural training and directed listening.

Assessment

Satisfactory completion of 2 projects (one worth 45%, one worth 55%); presentation of a 30 minute concert, organised by the student, of the student's own works (20%); participation in workshops, seminars, tutorials and concerts.
