One 2-hour practical class and one 1-hour tutorial per week

Subject Description

Students will gain advanced skills in:

  • tonal and atonal improvisation techniques;
  • repertoire of age-appropriate material suitable for therapy work;
  • composition of songs for use in therapy;

Students will also gain skills in:

  • directing group activities and understanding group dynamics;
  • group improvisation
  • relaxation and guided imagery techniques;
  • principles of psychodynamic dance.

Assessment

One 1500-word assignment and the composition of 2 original songs (50%); a practical test (50%).
