Subject Description | Students will acquire basic skills in the use of computers in music notation and composition with MIDI and identify the major forces and influences in the recent developments in computer music. Areas covered include a broad study of the influences of technology on musical thinking and practice including the application of digital computers to solving musical problems; an introduction to music software used in sequencing and notation. |
Assessment | 3 projects in-sequencing (60%); 1 project in notation (40%). |
