Subject Description

Students will be able to use a dictionary effectively, pronounce the language with precision and musical rhythm and to understand the meaning of musical terms in the language.

Areas covered include pronunciation, basic grammar (e.g. the verb forms of 'to be' and 'to have' and the declension of regular verbs), dictionary skills, literal translation of texts the students are preparing for recital and language coaching in these songs. Also a study of selected musical terms in this language.

Assessment

Active class participation and oral and written exercises (50%), end-of-year tests including singing two songs in the language studied (50%).
