Subject Description | A study of the legal framework of government in Australia. Outline of topics: the nature of public law; basic constitutional concepts; foundations of the Australian constitutional system; constitutional amendment; the judicature; the legislature; protection of rights; legislative power; federal financial and economic framework; the Crown; the executive government; review of executive action; judicial review; administrative review; the Ombudsman; freedom of information. |
Assessment | Research Assignment not exceeding 3000 words (30%) and Final Exam 3 hours (70%). |
Prescribed Texts | Printed Materials will be issued by the Law School.
