Subject Description | A project report between 10 000 and 15 000 words on a topic chosen in consultation with the staff of the Faculty. Regular meetings will be held with the supervisor during second semester for advice on subject matter and technical execution of the work. Fortnightly meetings will be held with the project coordination team to monitor progress of the work. One oral progress report will be required at the end of first semester and two in second semester. Students will develop an insight into a specific area of environmental planning, and experience in basic research methods such as literature search, objective setting, data collection and problem-solving; develop an ability to handle source materials and data, and to interpret and present them in a coherent manner in accordance with accepted conventions; produce a report in a professionally competent manner and which may usefully be made available to a potential employer. |
Assessment | Final project report 85%; oral and written presentation 15%. |
