Subject Description | This subject aims to provide students with: an appreciation of the nature and diversity of primates; a general understanding of the pattern and process of human evolution; the ability to critically evaluate the biological basis of human behaviour; and a zoological perspective on the human species. Specific topics addressed will include: the evolution of the primates; the biological basis of primate behaviour; the behavioural ecology of primates; and human population growth and ecology. |
Assessment | A 3-hour end-of-semester written examination; up to 3000 words of essay work and/or a report may be included in the assessment. |
