Subject Description

This subject is designed to extend the material covered in one of 640-361 Astrophysics, 640-355 Classical and Modern Mechanics or 640-351 Modern Optics through supervised project work. The precise nature of the project work will be determined by the lecturer of the associated lecture subject in consultation with the student. Typical projects include a reading assignment on a specialised topic, project-style laboratory work or computational work in the relevant discipline.

Assessment

By negotiation with the lecturer of the associated lecture subject: either a written report and/or assignment totalling up to 36 pages, or a written report totalling up to 24 pages together with a 15 minute oral presentation.
