Subject Description | Aspects of the following topics will be considered: advanced data modelling, focusing on relational but possibly including network, hierarchical, and others; relational database issues (query processing, and optimisation); object-oriented databases (design and query languages); data management; and database application development. At the completion of this subject, students should:

Assessment | A 3-hour end-of-semester written examination; assigned project work. Weighting of the assessment components will be announced at the commencement of the subject. |
