Subject Description | This subject will include aspects of the following topics: introduction to project management, reasons projects fail, the project life cycle, project tasks and deliverables, defining projects and establishing project contracts, requirements analysis. Feasibility analysis; cost estimation and cost/benefit analysis. Project scheduling: activity networks, critical path analysis, resource levelling. Risk management, quality assurance, managing project phases and project resources, testing and project delivery, post implementation review. Human aspects: interpersonal communication, teamwork, project leadership. At the completion of this subject, students should:

Assessment | End of semester written examination of up to three hours, group project taking up to 40 hours to prepare and present. The weighting of the assessment components will be announced at the commencement of the subject. |
