Subject Description | This is an introductory subject in which the student will examine the principles which underlie the practices and which assist the management of strategy, systems, structure and people in the modern workplace. The course will be evaluative rather than prescriptive in nature as well as having a strong international comparative learning. Topics covered will include ethics, strategy, planning, control, power, organisational culture, leadership, conflict, dispute resolution, motivation, communication, workplace change, discrimination, flexibility and globalisation. At the completion of this subject, students should be able to:

Assessment | One 2-hour end-of-semester examination (70%) and an essay of up to 2000 words (30%). |
