A high level of achievement in at least two of 606-201, 606-202, 606-204, 606-205 or 606-206, and acceptance into this subject by the Head of School.

Corequisites

At least two 300-level Botany subjects.

Subject Description

This subject involves an original investigation of an approved topic in botany through observation and/or experimentation and/or a critical review of published works.

By the end of the subject, students should:

  • have an appreciation of the nature and requirements of research in plant science, including experimental design and analysis of data and literature; and
  • have experience in the written and oral presentation of original research.

Assessment

A written report of up to 3000 words and a seminar presentation at the end of the semester in which the project is undertaken.
