Subject Description | This subject provides students with an opportunity to implement skills gained during Research Methods 1 and 2 in a clinical setting. Students must design, conduct and write up two single subject studies of patients they treat during their fourth year clinical placements and complete a statistical assignment on analysis of time series data in the theory block. The subject is designed to help students comprehend the value of objective measurement in clinical practice, the importance of selecting a valid assessment tool and the necessity for careful planning prior to the execution of a research project. Students will also further develop their skills in objective clinical measurement and in written scientific communication. |
Assessment | Two single subject studies and one statistical analysis assignment (no more than 1500 words each) must be submitted. Each case study is worth 33.3%. Students must submit all three assignments in order to receive a pass grade. |
