Subject Description | The theoretical component of the course comprises the theories of motor control and motor learning, methods of assessment of clients with neurological dysfunction, pathologies of the commoner neurological and neuromuscular disorders and an introduction to paediatric neurology. The clinical component of the course comprises the practical application of the theoretical knowledge together with clinical reasoning and the development of specific handling skills. The objectives of the course are to develop the students understanding of how normal activities may be impaired due to dysfunction in the central nervous system and instruct the student in the methods by which the client may be rehabilitated. |
Assessment |
Students must pass both the theoretical and clinical components of the assessment in order to pass the overall subject. |
