Subject Description | A survey of primary mathematics curriculum content and investigation of teaching methodologies. Exploration of fundamental concepts, generalisations, skills and applications initially through investigations in Number; Measurement, and Chance & Data strands. The use of calculators and computers in teaching and for learning within these strands. Assessment techniques appropriate to primary school mathematics. |
Assessment | Hurdle requirement: At least 90% proficiency on a set task covering all strands of the primary curriculum. Satisfactory completion of seminar presentation and weekly tasks. Written assignments equivalent in total to 2500 words and two examinations, one at the end of each semester. |
