Subject Description

This subject will enable students to extend their practical and theoretical understanding of the arts in relation to primary education. Students will select Drama, Music and/or Visual Arts as a focus for their study of arts processes and concepts. They will also examine the relationship between the arts in educational and cultural settings. Students will undertake advanced arts practice designed to extend their skills and knowledge of arts disciplines. They will engage in a range of arts projects in school and community settings involving the design, implementation and assessment of primary arts curriculum appropriate to particular contexts.

Assessment

Written work, visual arts folio and/or performance project equivalent to 4000 words.
