Contact

36 hours plus a minimum of 4 hours per week for ten weeks in the approved workplace setting

Objectives

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • evaluate education and training programs and projects;
  • demonstrate competent interpersonal communication and skills in collaborative learning processes in workplace settings;
  • evaluate and select models of curriculum, program and project design;
  • utilise alternative approaches in professional practice based on the integration of theory and practice; and
  • maintain a critically reflective attitude to professional practice.

Content

Curriculum theory and alternative program designs; program planning, development and evaluation; integrating theory and practice; on-the-job and off-the-job learning; collaboration and team work; mentoring and feedback.

Assessment

An essay of 3750 words on a negotiated topic (50%) and a project equivalent to 3750 words (50%); each derived from the Workplace Learning Agreement.
