Subject Description

This subject examines the critical issues and debates surrounding responsibility for children during the early childhood years. It undertakes an analysis of the changing conceptions of the functions and roles of the early childhood professional. Particular focus is given to procedures for quality assurance in children's services, including National Standards, State Regulations and accreditation processes. The subject will also present guidelines, policies, and practices for health, nutrition and safety in early childhood services, with attention to their application to children 0-3 years of age.

Assessment

An applied task(s) or equivalent and a 3-hour examination.
