Two hour class for practicum orientation and 25 days practicum in a service for children aged 0-5 years or support service(s) for young children

Subject Description

Students will gain experience of management and leadership in service(s) for children aged 0-5 shadowing the role of an early childhood professional. Their work will accommodate the needs of children from minority groups incorporating equity principles and in recognition of the context of those children's lives. Experience will be gained in use of technology for management of children's services. Students will have the opportunity to extend their understandings of other subjects within a practical setting.

Assessment

25 days of practicum, and associated written tasks as specified in the BECS 4 Practicum manual.
