Subject Description

The focus of this subject is on the provision of high quality programs for infants and toddlers. Key areas of curriculum for children 0-3 years will be studied, including adult-child interaction, caregiving routines, play, developmental appropriateness, and individualised planning. Emphasis will be given to curriculum strategies which recognise young children as active participants in their own learning. Students will review and evaluate appropriate activities, learning environments, curriculum resources, and guidance strategies for children aged from birth to three years.

Assessment

Essay and assignments totalling 4000 words.
