Subject Description | The objective of this subject is to develop skills in the design and implementation of databases and information systems, with emphasis on applications in geomatics and geographic information systems. Information Management: Principles, design and implementation of management information systems. Management structures, decision support systems, distributed systems and applications processing. Databases: Principles and design of databases with emphasis on land and geographic information systems. Relational database systems. System query language (SQL). |
Assessment | Not more than three hours of written examinations and tests and not more than the equivalent of 40 pages of written assignments and reports on practical work. The relative weighting of the assessment components will be published at the commencement of the subject |
