Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to develop skills for effective written and verbal presentations of technical reports.

Requirements and purposes of technical reports. An introduction to the literature in surveying; literature searches. Requirements of effective writing: structure, style, vocabulary. Citations and references. The use of graphics. Editing a report. Verbal presentations.

Assessment

Assessment based on not more than three 1000 word essays or equivalent assignments, one seminar presentation (equivalent to 1000 words) and tutorial work performed during the course (equivalent to 20 pages). The relative weighting of the assessment components will be published at the commencement of the subject
