Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to present advanced concepts in plane surveying and associated instrument calibration, including network computations.

Advanced theory and practice of electronic distance measurement; precise differential and trigonometric levelling; control surveys; use of network adjustment software; engineering and industrial surveying; hydrographic surveying; road design.

Assessment

Not more than three hours of written examinations and tests and not more than the equivalent of 100 pages of written assignments and reports on practical work. The relative weighting of the assessment components will be published at the commencement of the subject
