Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to provide practical training in the use and calibration of instruments relating to plane surveying, and the computer packages for survey data reduction and plotting.

Practical exercises and tutorials involving area and volume computations, curve setting out for route surveying, automated "field-to-finish" surveys, topographic surveys and GPS, use of computer packages for survey data reduction and plotting.

Assessment

Not more than the equivalent of 80 pages of written assignments and reports on practical work. The relative weighting of the assessment components will be published at the commencement of the subject
