Subject Description | The objective of this subject is to provide practical training in the use and calibration of instruments relating to plane surveying, and the computer packages for survey data reduction and plotting. Practical exercises and tutorials involving surveying coordinate systems, linear distance measurement, differential levelling - instrumentation and calibration, electronic distance measurement, theodolite- measurements and calibration, 2-D and 3-D theodolite and distance traversing, topographic surveying. |
Assessment | Not more than the equivalent of 80 pages of written assignments and reports on practical work. The relative weighting of the assessment components will be published at the commencement of the subject |
