Subject Description | Students completing this unit will be able to analyse for the structural response of buildings to a variety of dynamic loading conditions. Topics covered include: Introduction to structural dynamics and modelling techniques. Response of structures to a variety of dynamic loading including wind, earthquake, fluid, machine induced, impulse and other loads. Assessment of serviceability and ultimate limit states for dynamic loading. |
Assessment | One three-hour examination at the end of the Semester (70%) and two assignments each of 3000 words or equivalent (30%) |
