Subject Description | At the conclusion of this unit students should have an understanding of fundamentals of traffic engineering and an appreciation of the role of engineering in the transport planning process. Topics covered include: Transport systems, the transport planning process, traffic survey methods, traffic flow theory, capacity of unsignalised intersections, traffic management and transport models. |
Assessment | One written examination not exceeding three-hours (80%) and two assignments of 2000 words or equivalent |
