Subject Description

Topics covered include: The background of engineering management, combining technology and business. Introduction to the management process, embracing planning, organisation, leadership control of human, physical and financial resources. The commercial and context of engineering. The need for marketing orientation and financial. The social responsibility, environmental and occupational health and safety aspects of engineering practice. Communication Workshops to enhance listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.

Assessment

One written examination not exceeding three-hours (60%), one 2000 word assignment (20%) and Workshop participation (20%)
