Subject Description

Students completing this unit will undertake a number of experimental projects involving heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid flow, reaction kinetics and process control to gain practical application for the theories introduced in other lectures. The students are required to perform systematic studies on the performance and the operation of the experimental units such as distillation column, liquid fluidized bed, gas fluidized bed, condenser, evaporator, humidifier, crystalliser, CSTR, etc. This course aims at helping the students to improve their skills in collecting and analysing data and in reporting their findings in an appropriate manner.

Assessment

Reports and presentations (˜80%) Performance during project work (˜20%)
