Subject Description | Introduction to the development of simple chemical processes based on limited information available. Emphasis is also placed on the presentation of the process details using computer packages. A number of assignments are given to the students so that they learn to: develop a simple process flow sheet; present the flow sheet on PC using CorelDRAW; give a verbal description of the process using a word processor; perform material balance on the flow sheet using a spread sheet package; perform simple cost analysis on the process; present the results of analysis using charts and graphs; present the design of simple pieces of equipment conforming to standard mechanical drawing rules using a graphical package. |
