Subject Description

Topics include the origins, evolution and attributes of the economic institutions of capitalism, including the modern business corporation, and the state; labour market institutions; work, workers, and internal labour markets; business strategies and development; institutional change and path dependency, transformation of non-market economies.

Assessment

Written work not exceeding 3000 words (30%); one 3-hour examination (70%).
