Subject Description | This subject will examine the links between the theoretical bases of change and its practice in organisations. Emphasis will be placed on the interdependence of individual, group and organisational change. At the individual level, topics may include adult development and learning, transitions, careers and competencies. Group dynamics and task group development will be included in the analysis of group change. At the organisational level, different typologies and theories of change will be compared and integrated through topics such as leadership and membership in change, culture and climate, and organisational learning. Approaches to organisational change management will include organisation development, action research, process and management consulting. Current applied issues will include topics of interest to seminar participants. |
Assessment | A 3-hour end-of-semester examination (60%) and class assignments of no more than 2000 words (40%). |
