Subject Description

A readings-based introduction to the Information Systems (IS) literature for honours and diploma students. The IS frameworks literature, the notion of 'success' in IS (the dependent variable in many research studies), the behavioural and individual differences literature, organisation theory literature, the literature on building effective IS, and the literature on the strategic implications of Information Technology.

Assessment

A 3-hour end-of-semester take-home examination (80%); class presentations and summaries of readings (10%); class participation (10%).

Prescribed Texts

A reading list will be provided at the beginning of the semester.
