Subject Description

This subject introduces the accounting techniques and processes available to assist managers in planning and controlling organisation activities. Topics include: cost estimation and measurement, cost accounting systems; and accounting for inventory. The emphasis is on developing technical expertise in the use of these systems in both manufacturing and service organisations.

Assessment

A 3-hour end-of-semester examination (80%); tutorial participation (10%); an assignment (10%).
