Subject Description | Principles of animal management and production. Practical nutrition of domestic animals. Animal management and production systems. Herd and flock data acquisition and records; management, health and production problems; analysing laboratory and farm animal production; costing and financial performance; the examination, diagnosis and methods of treatment of 'sick' farms or production systems. Computer models of farm production systems. |
Assessment | A 2 hour written examination and a 20-minute oral examination at the end of the year; practical work assessed continuously throughout the teaching period. |
