Subject Description

An examination of criminal behaviour relating to medical practice, the involvement of medicine in criminal justice agencies, the professional regulation of medicine, consideration of various criminal offences related to medical practice; interpretation of various case studies concerning the regulation of medicine by law; the inter-relationship of law, crime and medicine; and the assumptions about bodily subjectivity in medico-legal discourse.

Assessment

Up to 5000 words of written work at 3rd year level and 6000 words at 4th year level. An examination may be substituted for part of the written work.
