Subject Description

Introduction to the morphological diversity of the world's languages; to the principles, techniques and theories needed to analyse them; and to their relation to syntax, phonology, semantics, and discourse function.

Assessment

Assignments and essays totalling 5,000 words at third-year level and 6,000 words at fourth-year level. An examination may be substituted for part of the work.
