Subject Description | This subject examines problems and issues of central interest in current philosophical debate. Students of the subject should attain detailed knowledge of the ideas operative in the topics selected for study, and of the background and context necessary for their evaluation. |
Assessment | One 3-hour end-of-semester examination. An alternative assessment by up to 4000 words of essay-work (either during the semester or as a take-away examination) may be permitted; students unable to complete this essay by the due date will be required to sit the examination. Students will be advised in the first week of the subject if this option is available. |
