Subject Description

Contemporary issues in the philosophy of mind concerning intentionality, action, mental causation, and the self.

Assessment

One 3-hour end-of-semester examination. An alternative assessment by up to 4000 words of essay-work (either during the semester or as a take-away examination) may be permitted; students unable to complete this essay by the due date will be required to sit the examination. Students will be advised in the first week of the subject if this option is available.
