Subject Description

In this subject, students undertake supervised research and reading on traditional or contemporary Japan, or the relationship between them using Japanese language sources, such as books, journals, Internet access, satellite television and newspapers. Students may also make use of Western language materials and develop an understanding of the different approaches and methodologies in the study of Japan, particularly through a comparison of Japanese and Western language materials.

Assessment

A total of 6000 words in written work.
