Four hours per week: one computer class; three language classes

Subject Description

The format of the subject is the same as Japanese 5A. In the reading session short stories and essays by contemporary writers will be studied to familiarise students with different styles of writing. The other session will continue to develop further spoken skills.

Assessment

Second and Third Years: Assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 2,500 words in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes). Fourth Year: Assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 2,500 words in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes); one translation exercise (equivalent to not more than 1,000 words in written work). Students are required to attend a minimum of 70 percent of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations.
