Six hours per week: one computer class; one language laboratory; four language classes

Subject Description

A further study in spoken and written Japanese; oral/aural work will be incorporated in classroom activities. Students will be exposed to more rigorous studies to expand reading and writing skills. They will be expected to learn an additional 150 characters with the assistance of computers.

Assessment

Regular assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 3,500 words (1st year level)/2,500 words (2nd year levels) in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes). Students are required to attend a minimum of 70 percent of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations.
