Subject Description

A further study in spoken and written Japanese; oral/aural work will be incorporated in classroom activities. Students will be expected to learn 100 plus new characters and will be encouraged to learn them with the assistance of computers.

Assessment

Regular assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 3,500 words (1st year level) or 2,500 words (2nd year level) in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes). Students are required to attend a minimum of 70 percent of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations.
