Prerequisites | At least two 200-level HPS subjects. Students wishing to enrol in this subject must apply for permission through a member of the Department who is willing to supervise the course of study. |

Subject Description | Dependent on interests and expertise of student. To provide students with the opportunity to do supervised research on a topic not normally treated in the undergraduate curriculum. The student should gain skills in independent research and acquire the ability to apply historical, philosophical and social forms of analysis to a piece of scientific work of particular interest to him or her. |
Assessment | A 3-hour end-of-semester examination or written work of up to 5000 words. |
