Subject Description | This course incorporates the lectures for 136-238 and extends the material in them in an additional 90-minute lecture seminar. It deals with current research in the history and philosophy of science, with an emphasis on transfer of the lessons to contemporary science. The subject matter can range from philosophical critiques of evolutionary theory to medical history to the role of science in debates about the environment. The exact subject matter will vary from year to year. In 1998 the subject will focus on issues in evolutionary biology. |
